Blogging with WordPress offers users so many choices, including a variety of plug-ins that meet different needs. Some are for fun and others are very functional and useful for a variety of purposes. No one would want all these plug-ins in their blog, though, and some are more well-suited to some types of content than others.
But all of them when used with the right blog can make the blog more dynamic and easier for the reader to use, as well as keep them interested and coming back.
Related Posts: This plug-in shows a linked list of related posts at the bottom of a post. This is excellent for keeping readers at your blog. They’ll finish one post and see list of others that contain relevant content, and keep clicking through and reading as long as they’re interested in your content. This plug-in is great for any blog, especially those with many older posts that they still want to bring to the attention of readers.
Adsense Deluxe: This plug-in allows you to place Adsense ads on your blog. Adsense is Google’s pay-per-click program. If you run Adsense ads on your blog, when people click on them you get paid. The amount of pay varies by ad, topic and a variety of other factors, with ads ranging from 1 to 3 cents per click up to several dollars per click. Adsense uses the content of your page to determine which related ads will run, making it more likely that your audience will click on those ads. These are best for very niche blogs on a specific topic.
All in One SEO Pack: This plug-in helps you optimize your WordPress blog for search engines. It will help you choose titles, descriptions and keywords to help you get better listings with the search engines.
Feedsmith: Feedsmith sends your blog to Feedburner. This allows those who prefer reading blogs via RSS feeds to do so without having to visit your site. Many people will sign up for feeds rather than have to visit every blog site they read every day. If you don’t get your blog in a feed, you’re missing out a valuable chunk of readers. There are dozens of plug-ins designed to help you copyright and optimize your feed, including advertising on it.
Askimet: Askimet stops spam in its tracks. When comments and trackback links are spammy, Askimet catches them and asks your approval before posting. You can search comments then by IP to find all the comments by one person, as well as searching by user name. This can really save you from spam on your blog.
WP Captcha-Free: This plug-in stops automated commenting without requiring each commenter to type in a hard-to-read captcha. This blog plug-in is designed more for bot and automated spam comments, while Askimet catches individually posted comments, too.
WordPress Popular Posts: This plug-in adds a widget to your blog similar to the Related Posts that you can customize in a variety of ways to show the information that you want it to. The plug-in shows your most read blog posts.

Today, having a blog on the internet is just about as common as having an e-mail address. E-mailing and blogging actually share a number of the same purposes, such as that they are allowed to spread ideas, provide people with information and to promote online businesses. Blogs originally served, however, as online journals and diaries. Now that blogs are serving so many other functions, learning how to retain every blog visitor that you attract to your website is more important than ever.
Blogging has absolutely become an essential tool in internet marketing, especially for people that are trying to earn an income online. Learning how to write a blog effectively has taken on more significance and importance than ever before. Blogs that are poorly written simply are not successful, and they struggle more when it comes to blog visitor retention. If you want your blog to be successful then you need to turn it into a blog that is popular and highly inviting. Here are some techniques for better writing in your blog to improve your blog visitor retention.
Tip #1 – Try to keep your blog entries short and sweet. Clear and concise blog entries generally have the best blog visitor retention rate. Many people that read blogs are not looking for length – So say what you have to say in a clear and concise manner and move on.
Tip #2 – Make sure that you are thinking about the audience that you are trying to cater to when you write your blog posts. You should be conducting research based on how well known your particular niche is. Don’t write a blog on a topic that is so obscure that you are only going to have small blog visitor numbers.
Tip #3 – Write in a tone that is light and conversational. You should be writing to your readers as if you were talking to them on a face to face basis.
Tip #4 – Write about topics that are interesting, relevant and informative. You should be entertaining and you should be informative while you are supplying information that is relevant and useful.
Tip #5 – To boost your blog visitor retention numbers you are going to want to make sure that your blog is well designed. Avoid distracting and flashy colors and images and leave out the clutter, it’s just a waste of space.
Tip #6 – Make sure that there are always links included in your blog. Link to products, services and other useful resources, including your own and other people’s websites as well.
Tip #7 – Make sure that you are using search engine keywords on your blog, including in your blog title, your blog posts and links that you create for the maximum amount of search engine optimization.

When you are creating a brand new blog, one of the best things that you can do is to choose a blog niche that you can narrow your blog concept down into, as this is going to help you make sure that you target the right audience rather than attempting to cover absolutely everything. You want to appeal to someone, not just “the masses”, but a specific group of people. Choosing a blog niche, then, is one of the best things that you can do for your blog.
When you first decide upon the blog niche that you are going to use, it should probably be something that:
- You know about.
- You enjoy writing about.
This way, providing a lot of fresh and informative content is going to be a lot easier for you, in comparison to if you were trying to write a blog on something you simply do not care about. As your blog progresses you are going to begin to see how much money blogs can earn, and then you may decide that you want to grow your blog network to include a lot more unique blogs with blog niches attached to them. By this point, you will likely have reached a level of proficiency where you can outsource some of your content creation. At this point, you can create a blog on anything and choose an appropriate writer, and you will not be limited to your own knowledge and your own interests when you create blogs for your network.
Choose a topic that you know something about. It can be absolutely anything under the sun that you can think of. You can choose to create a blog about pets, about health, losing weight, purses, fashion and clothing, sports, collecting stamps, romance books, or anything else under the sun that you can think of.
Once you have a niche, the possibilities really are endless when it comes to all the things that you can do with it. But your blog is less limited when you choose a blog niche, not more limited. You need to realize this in order for your blog to ever go anywhere. Once you have a niche, that is when you can grow your traffic, appeal to the right people, and reach out to the target audience that you are seeking. Without a blog niche, you are working in the dark, advertising blindly and simply hoping that you will find your target audience. But how can you find your target audience if you do not know who you are trying to appeal to? A blog niche is going to help you achieve this – Making it a vital part of your blog.

Although it may be entirely possible for a single person to handle all of the various requirements for when it comes to creating a Blog Carnival, it may be beneficial to create a joint effort with a handful of like minded individuals that can create and run the Blog Carnival together. There are four primary roles that have to be filled in creating a Blog Carnival, and each has its own unique set of responsibilities and skills.
The organizer of the Blog Carnival is the individual that creates the carnival, determines what niche or subject it will focus on, decides upon the submission criteria, and also determines how often the Blog Carnival will appear. The organizer of the Blog Carnival will also be responsible for coordinating who will be responsible for hosting each of the carnival’s editions. As times goes on, the organizer may be responsible for finding new volunteers for hosting the Blog Carnival.
The host is an individual that has volunteered the host the Blog Carnival in their blog. This individual works with the organizer of the Blog Carnival in order to arrive at a date that seems to suit everyone involved. In the period of time that leads up to the scheduled date of the Blog Carnival, the host is responsible for collecting submissions from participating bloggers, organizing them into a single article that is full of links, comments and resources. This article will be published in the blog on the agreed-upon date.
Bloggers who have written blogs or articles that match the topic of the Blog Carnival will submit their links to be included in the carnival’s next edition. Bloggers who often contribute to Blog Carnivals are regarded as experts or outspoken members within their fields. Bloggers submit their links to the host of the Blog Carnival, and these links are included in the next edition of the Blog Carnival for everyone to see.
Finally, the audience is made up of both readers who are interested in the topic at hand, and other bloggers as well. This audience comes to the Blog Carnival in order to find out if the subject being talked about is something that they are interested in. They often pay attention to several editions of the same Blog Carnival in order to see what is being talked about, as well as in order to determine what future topics and subjects may be.
The concept of the Blog Carnival is collaborative in nature. While it may be possible for a single person to run the show if they really had the gumption, the best way to run a Blog Carnival is by collaboration with experts in related niches and outspoken members of the blogging community. Incorporating more bright minds into the creation of a Blog Carnival is an excellent way to make sure that the event will go off without a hitch.

When you are working to find your blog’s niche, it would be a bad idea to choose one that you think is profitable. That would be the wrong choice to make. Instead, you should consider a few questions in determining your niche. The first is important: Is it something that you are interested in? You will be tasked with generating lots of content, with frequent posting. This will cost you time in terms of research, writing, brainstorming, etc. Without interest in your genre, you won’t last. Motivation will dwindle and the blog will be short lived. Plus, if the blog talks about what you are interested in, you will have a lot of knowledge to start with.
You should also ask if your niche is too specific or general. To specific, and you may find yourself capping off with five readers. Too general, and you will be competing with blogs that are already well established. Try to achieve a balance so that the competition will not be as high, and that you will attract a good number of readers. As an example, instead of a baseball blog, choose a specific team, or state or stadium. Related to this, ask who your audience is. A blog that is targeting senior citizens may not do so well right now, because those individuals may not spend time online. A generation from now, that may not be true. Targeting a specific region, do they have internet?
Now ask yourself, will you be able to easily advertise? This is important if your goal is to generate traffic for revenue. Your blog should be able to reach high in the rankings, advertising should be able to added to the blog without much distraction, and that there are other similar blogs which you could potentially exchange links with. Your searching should also answer another question, who are your competitors? Finding out who these people are will allow you to generate content that is different so that you do can draw readers to your site.
If you are seeking profit, will your niche be profitable? This will not apply to all blogs, as some people are out there to inform, not necessarily make money. This also should not be the only concern with a blog. If in considering the first question, you find a few topics which you have interest in, you can try and pick from the list the one is most profitable. Topics for which you are most passionate should have preference as they will be the easiest to generate content for.
Finding a niche is a process that requires much thought and inner reflection. You should not pick a niche for the profit alone. What is most important is that you choose a genre that you have passion for. Not only will your blog do much better in terms of quality and quantity, but you will not lose interest and find yourself disliking your blog. Make sure that you know the answers to the above questions before settling on a niche.

2 – TweetLater –

What makes this a useful tool for the less die hard audience is that you can you forward the e-mails about who follows your Twitter feed to your TweetLater address, and the followers will automatically get a private message from your account, which is an excellent way to automate some of your most basic marketing tasks.
This particular tool offers up a quick and easy way to search about what people are posting about when it comes to specific keywords or topics in the Twitter universe.
4 – TweetBeep –
This particular tool is the equivalent of Google Alerts but designed specifically to work with Twittering and Tweets. This is a fun and simple service that will allow you to feed your blog posts directly to your Twitter account. You can control the frequency by which your blog posts are displayed by Twitter, and you can also choose what text will preface your blog feed. This is excellent for attracting more people to your blog by showing it in bits and pieces on Twitter.
Twitter is not going away because it is a sturdy blogging platform rather than a quick fad. These tools will allow you to maximize your Twitter use, enhancing your social networking endeavor in the process.
