Great tips here – you’re right on the money. Of all the websites that I have developed, NONE have grown SEO wise faster than my WordPress sites.

Here’s a tip though – don’t use All in One SEO – Headspace2 is so much better. I have actually switched all my sites from AIO to Headspace.

(and no – I am not a headspace developer or affiliate – that’s why there are no links, )

most can be very good. for me most of the content I produce on most of my sites is timeless. (Although I do have a few sites where content is very much dated)…

The timelessness in combination with the dateless permalink structure alloys me to use my plugin Old Post Promoter to increase traffic to old (in terms of when it was published) posts…

Thanks for that plugin suggestion Kevin.Regarding the custom permalink structure I agree. However, would the option of including the date and postname be as strong?
I teach all my students to use the custom but wondered recently if the other options, except for the naked page number, could be as good.

Interesting start but way short what really needs to be done to seo your blog. For example, just using the standard ping facility for advertising new content will soon get you “red-carded” if you have lots of posts/pages/edits. You need to add the MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer plugin to manage your ping rate and stop your site getting blocked by spam filters.
